What is CoolSculpting?

Coolsculpting is a fat-freezing treatment that aims to eliminate stubborn fat in some parts of your body. This process is popularly known as cryolipolysis and has been an FDA-approved medication since 2010.

Experts thought about the idea of what can happen to fat during frostbite. Then, they have discovered fat freezes at a higher temperature than the skin. CoolSculpting has a device that causes your fat to reach a temperature destroying it while leaving your skin and the remaining tissues unharmed.

How Does it Work?

Coolsculpting uses a technique known as cryolipolysis. The process works by a roll of fat is put between two panels cooling it to a freezing temperature. Some prefer this treatment to cure several parts of the body, including:

  • Lower back
  • Belly
  • Sides
  • Thigh

Coolsculpting also aims to reduce the appearance of cellulitis on the buttocks, legs, and arms Others would use it to reduce the excess fat underneath the chin.

The treatment can last for about an hour to treat each targeted body part. So, it may take you some time to treat targeted areas if you wish to choose more. Larger body parts can also require more sessions than smaller ones.

Effectivity

Advertisements must let people believe how effective CoolSculpting is. But, there’s a big range of effectiveness in general.

Study shows that CoolSculpting is safe and effective in reducing the fat layers of the skin. It also says how it can help an individual improve their body contouring appearance. But here’s the catch. The study was funded by a company that creates products using CoolSculpting.

So while it is not entirely 100% effective for this time, Coolsculpting is relatively effective for most people. Each individual differs with its parameters, especially when it comes to the amount of fat loss.

To identify if CoolSculpting best works for you, a consultation with your doctor is highly recommended. Lush Skin Aesthetics provides a one-on-one discussion to help you work on your goals. You’ll be assessed and evaluated with your medical history, aesthetic goals, and requirements during the session.

This procedure will help our doctors plan a better program for your needs. Still, your safety will be the most important priority.

CoolSculpting Cost

CoolSculpting cost depends on the treatment area that you would like to target. Smaller areas cost less, and larger areas may cause more.

The cost will also depend on how many sessions you have, your location, and what kind of procedure to take. Talk and consult with one of our doctors to learn more!

What are its Risks & Side Effects?

Research is still limited for CoolSculpting. But most physicians still consider it a non-invasive and safer fat reduction surgery than any traditional procedure. Patients who undergo treatment do not feel anything while on the course. There can only be a tugging sensation where your skin is between the device’s cooling panels.

CoolSculpting does not also involve any tissue manipulation, anesthesia, or cutting. You don’t need to go through any recovery and can immediately resume your usual routines. Side-effects are possible, but the only noticeable impacts can be minor.

Effects may also occur only around the treatment area. Most minor side effects can go away within a few days or weeks after the procedure. Keep in mind that it’s normal to experience loss of sensation and numbness in the treatment area for around a month.

The usual side effects of CoolSculpting include:

  • Pinching sensation
  • Minor swelling
  • Bruising and redness
  • Firmness
  • Stinging & Tingling
  • Tenderness
  • Skin Sensitivity
  • Muscle Cramping
  • Mild to moderate pain

You may continue to experience these effects weeks after the treatment. Other common risks or effects are:

  • Diarrhea
  • Itchiness
  • Feeling of fullness in the throat (only happens if it you treat the area of your neck or chin)

Am I the Best Candidate for coolsculpting?

Coolsculpting isn’t for everyone. It is also important to note that it is not a way to lose weight. We might ask if you have tried diet and exercise and haven’t been able to eliminate that fat bulges. If that’s the case, you may be a fit for the treatment.

You’re not the best candidate for cool sculpting if you have:

  • Poor skin tone
  • Loose skin
  • Cold urticaria
  • Cryoglobulinemia
  • Paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria

Does it really work?

Coolsculpting is a non-surgical medical that aims to remove extra fat cells under the skin. As a non-invasive procedure, it has many benefits over traditional fat removal procedures. It is pretty popular as a fat removal treatment, especially in most western countries.

It received approval from the FDA in 2010, and within three years, it increased its validity. While there have been studies of CoolSculpting, its effectiveness is still uncertain. But like most procedures, there are pros and cons to getting cool sculpting.

Checking out with your doctor could help you identify if you’re the best fit for the treatment or not. All aesthetic procedures have their own risks and effects. It’s only for you to try things out. Lush Skin Aesthetics is here to help you achieve your goals.
